Albania

As I sit inside all day I am daydreaming about the time that I can take another vacation to somewhere warm sunny and just pretty. So today we are going to jump on an imaginary airplane and fly 5,267 miles all the way to Albania.

Albania is an independent country that is located in southeastern Europe and is bordered by the Adriatic Sea to the west, Montenegro to the northwest, Kosovo to the northeast, the Republic of North Macedonia to the east, and Greece to the south. With its increasing popularity amongst tourists, there are many things that you can do there on vacation.

Before we get to some of the more exciting things it is important to know at what time of the year is best to visit. Albania has a Mediterranean climate with hot and dry summers and mild and wet winters. In the winters the average temperature fluctuates around 45 degrees Fahrenheit and the summers are around 75 degrees Fahrenheit. With this information, I would recommend going for a vacation in the summer

Another important thing to think about is what type of foods you will have while you are there. One of the most famous foods is Byrek, a tasty salty pie made with filo pastry. Another one to try would be Tavë Kosi is a tasty quiche-like dish made with lamb, eggs, and yogurt. Although these are a few choices there are many other foods to choose from and try.

Now for one of the most exciting parts what is there to do in this country. While researching there are many historic landmarks to go and see. Some of those being Skanderbeg Square, Quarter of Gorica, and Osum Canyon. If you are looking for a day in the sunshine there are also things for you. Albania is home to many beaches and hot springs to choose from.

All in all, Albania seems like a really beautiful place to visit with many different activities to offer. I have found while researching all of these places that I am finding a whole bunch of places that I have never heard of before and now I am dying to visit. Until our next adventure.
