Mallorca, Spain

For our next adventure overseas we are going to be heading somewhere that is warm and has beaches. Here in Illinois, we are in the midst of our winter season and I am really longing for somewhere with sun and is not below freezing. Without further ado we are going to hop on a plane and head 4,627 miles all the way to Mallorca, Spain.

As always we are going to start off by seeing what the weather is going to be like while you are relaxing on the beach or strolling through the town. During the months of May to October the temperatures range from the ’60s to high 70’s and for the months of November to April they range from 50’s to low 60’s. In my opinion, I would rather go during the warmer months but I wouldn’t complain about going there when it is a little colder.

One of the most important things to look at when you are going somewhere is what types of food they have. One of the first local cuisines that I found is Sobrasada which is a cured pork sausage made with pork loin, pork belly/bacon, paprika, salt, pepper, and sometimes cayenne pepper. Another thing would be Cocarrois which stuffed pastry that is long with the crimp on the top. The fillings can very from vegetables to a meat veg mix and even seafood.

While here you are going to find many beautiful beaches that you can choose from. Some of the most popular ones are Cala Santanyi, Canyamel, Camp de Mar, and Cala Estellencs. All of these beaches offer different types of experience and some are busier than others but they all have clear blue water and sand.

If you are not wanting a beach day there is plenty of other things to do while you are there. If you want a day on the town there are many shops that you can go to or a bike ride around the city. If you are the more adventuring type there are nature walks, hikes, and many caves that you can explore

Throughout writing all of my blog posts I have found that I am finding all new places that I want to visit. With Mallorca specifically I found that it is a really pretty place that has more to offer then just beaches but having beaches is definitely an added bonus.
